Dilemma: Try Harder or Move on

It’s hard sometimes –

when you don’t know whether you should try harder for something or someone.

It’s hard sometimes –

when you don’t know whether you should just let it all go, call it quits.

It’s hard to find the wisdom to pick one path.

It’s hard to understand what the universe is trying to tell you.

And, truth be told, you may never know what that is for sure.

The only thing that you will know is that you tried, you put in the work. You did your part, and the rest is in God’s hands.

Let it go knowing that you did what you were supposed to do.

Know this:

You didn’t just sit back and watch it all slip away from you – you put yourself out there, you went for it. You put your heart on your sleeve, you got over your fears, you jumped right in. You seized that moment, you held on for dear life. You allowed yourself to be vulnerable. You went out of your way to make things happen. You compromised.

You did what you had to do.

Life is always going to be complicated, confusing, and pushing us this way and that. But I also feel that, life, and everything that the word means to any one person, pulls us closer to where we are supposed to go.

As long as you acted, as long as you showed us, as long as you gave it your all – you can let the universe bring it to you… or take it away.

And trust me when I say this: even if the universe ends up taking it away, you will move on with no regrets because you WILL know that you tried.

Because of that you will also be able to heal faster. You will not really wonder if there was anything else you could have done because you’ve done a lot more than you should.

At the end of the day, that’s how you will know that if something is meant to be yours, it will be.

So hold on.

Hold on for as long as you can.

Try as hard as you can.

Let it go.

The universe is working with you in the most mysterious ways. You just have to give it the space and time it needs to show you what is meant for you. You have to let it finish the race that you started because that is the only way you will attract the right things – that’s how you won’t waste your time (and theirs). That’s how you know if you are working towards that right goal… or the right person.

That’s how you know it is reality and not just an illusion.

You try.

Keep trying.

But then let it go.

It’s not giving up if you tried.

It’s not being lazy if you did your part.

It’s not being negative if you accept whatever the outcome may be.

It’s balance.

Because you have to find the balance between trying harder and letting go.

You have to find the happy medium between getting attached to something and setting it free.

Because things are not always going to go your way.

Remember that.
