I Don’t Want to Lose You

Just like the title says: I don’t want to lose you.

You, and you alone, are the greatest soul that has ever walked into my life. I don’t want the world to have a reason to take you away from me. You are more than just some random person that walked into my life over a decade ago – you are my person.

Having you in my life has taught me some of the greatest lessons I have ever learned. You taught me that the best things in life are not things at all, they are people.

And just like they always say: I must have done something right in a past life to be able to get to have you in this one. You are the most incredible human being that has ever stepped foot on my path.

And if anyone else thinks differently, well, they probably have never felt this way. They have never been able to know what it feels like to truly be felt. To have your love be reciprocated over and over again.

I don’t want to lose you.

You have become such a crucial part of me, a part that I can never afford to lose. This, what we have, is once in a lifetime and I intend to keep it for my lifetime.

The world has its set of ups and downs, paths that are left not taken and ones we have to backtrack on. The road ahead won’t always be clear, and it will have its own sets of bumps and twists. But, even so, that’s what makes it so worthy. You have always helped calm my storms, and settle my disasters.

I don’t want to lose you.

So, I will take all of it, all of us. I will be the light that you need when the path gets dark up ahead. I will be your strength, your courage. I will always be here for you, for whatever you need. I will keep you warm on your coldest days. I will hold you a little tighter than before, because I don’t want to lose you.
