The Pain That Comes With Growing

There are going to be days when you can feel everything that you have kept inside. The weight of it all will make itself known and you will be left feeling low. It is a time that you don’t want to happen, a time where you don’t even want to imagine what will happen. But this is the time when you have to do something, you have to care for yourself.

Are you in a good place? How is your soul?

I will let you know where I am. I am sitting in a place that allows me to release my inner thoughts which allows my spirit to be set free. A place where everything is steady with minimal lows. A place where I know when my breaking point is coming and how to revert back to happiness. A place where my gut instincts tell me a lot of what I need to know not only with myself but with others. A place where I am okay with getting lost in a dream, getting lost in him. A place where no matter the chaos that arises, I know that I am okay – or I will be.

Are you ready to release your own butterflies? The ones that tell you something is about to happen but you don’t know what. The ones that are there when you are nervous or scared. The ones that are there when you start falling in love.

Where are you mentally? Can you release all of the mental weight that you feel boiling over? Can you refocus?

Find your calm.

These are the moments when you have to take a minute and reflect, especially when you can’t put a finger on what is putting you in that place. Remind yourself of who you are whether you are extroverted, introverted or amiberted. If you are sensitive or not. You have to remind yourself that the smallest thing, at this point in time, could cause you to spiral. Even when you are feeling strong or unsure, remind yourself that this is good, this means growth.

Because you will end up surprising yourself with your courage, with your own self-respect. In these moment you were able to control the bad emotions. And though there will still be times when you struggle, times when you have episodes; you will be able to overcome them. In these moments, you are still trying to figure out who you are and that is okay.

The progress that you have made up until this point is something you should pat yourself on the back for. You are here, you are breathing. You are able to control those moments, they don’t control you. You are still learning, you are still growing.
