Life Can be too Much but Trust Me, That’s Okay

With the advancements in social media and being connected to a lot of people, there’s an overwhelming feeling associated with being in the know with everyone’s business. It feels like everyone around you is making the most out of their lives: becoming their own boss, living a life that makes one jealous, travelling, falling in love, getting engaged and married, having kids. And all of this makes you feel like you’re just floating around, wasting your time.

Have you ever felt like you are getting left behind? Like you can’t quite keep up with everything and everyone around you? Have you ever felt like there is nothing special about you? About your life?

Do you forget that there is beauty in life?

Believe me, I have. But don’t get me wrong, I still believe in the beauty of life and in everything around me, us. But when you get so caught up in the fog and can’t find your way out for a little while, you can’t help but think that we are all in need of validation from one another. But even with all of the beauty that surrounds us and the seven billion people trying to do that same thing, it’s hard to see the difference that you are trying to make.

Sometimes no matter how much you have done; graduating high school, university, getting a steady job, it is hard to feel worthy when those seven billion other people are trying to say the same thing.

Trust me, there is so much that we should be grateful for. The way the world is, we are all fortunate to be alive and have food in our bellies. The world has so much to offer us, we just have to stretch out a little longer to grab it. You have so much to offer the world, and so do I. But, I know that it is not always easy to see this. It is easy to find all the reasons that the world is conspiring against us even when we are only asking for something so small.

That’s okay, though. There is no certainty in life – in anything at all. The truth is, we are always going to be a little lost but we will also be a little bit found. No one has it all figured out, no one will – even if they think they do. You will get to where you are supposed to be exactly when you are supposed to get there. Some of us just have longer paths than others. Some of us walk a little slower.

When you are feeling lost, and a little worthless – remember this:

It will get better. It always will.

You have to be alive to see it, to feel it.

Life is overwhelming and hard. Life is also beautiful and giving. We just have to see the best of it and allow people to see the best of us.

Be strong.
